Beautiful countryside

We were in the ministry today, traveling about 30 min north to Cerra Punta. The area there is where most of the vegetables in Panama are grown. The hillsides are extremely steep, but they have rigged up irrigation systems to water the crops. There is also numerous coffee plantations. The area up here is so beautiful, it is overwhelming at times. Pictures to follow, but they really don't do the scenery justice. The area is so lush and vibrant. Riva's favorite flower, the calla lily grows everywhere. The ground is so fertile, and the air so moist that fence posts begin growing into trees! As soon as they are put in the ground, they sprout roots, and leaves. Really amazing!

We were able to talk to a number of people and invite them to the annual memorial of Jesus death, which we are commemorating tonight. The people all enjoy speaking about the bible here. The pace of life feels like it's in slow motion. No one is in a hurry to run off somewhere. Everything is so relaxed, and easy going. The feeling is very addicting, and we can already feel ourselves changing. Things that seemed important before simply don't matter. It really is a different way of life.

Anyway, we will be moving into our house tomorrow, and will be able to post more pictures with the wifi there. We want everyone to be able to see what a beautiful area this is. If anyone is wanting to help where there is a need, the English group here is desperate for help. It is extremely cheap to live, and very rewarding, as we are already finding. Ciao!
